Our Nest!

I am now on to post number 2! I am too excited to wait! We found a nest in our bush! It is the most perfect nest with 3 of the most beautiful, bright blue Robin eggs! We all looked at it for a second (after we unintentionally scared mama bird) and I took some pictures. We also found out that the neighbors have a Mourning Dove nest above their light. The mama bird wouldn't leave even when we took a pic! I cant wait to see the baby birds (and neither can the girls)! Here are the pics! I think that they are so pretty! Isn't creation amazing?

    I just ousted an identical nest from INSIDE THE WREATH ON OUR FRONT DOOR. I would have loved to leave it there and felt terrible, but I have been viciously attacked several times by nesting Robins and couldn't leave it there where visitors would be dive bombed. Make sure you keep the kids away when mommy bird starts getting grouchy (usually after they hatch).

    After we ousted the robins, house finches laid eggs in the same place. When I removed their nest (if you remove it right away they will build a new nest and lay eggs again elsewhere) the poor little things hung on our screen door (now empty, I removed the wreath) and stared at us sadly for a FULL ten minutes while we ate dinner.

    Beautiful photos! I like #2 the best, but they are all fantastic for different reasons. You should frame one of them because they're SO professional. :) And yes, I think creation is amazing too.
