Yes Pup did this work from Montessori Print Shop. I read her the labels and she put them where they went! She really loved this!
Putting the chalk board by the sandpaper letters was such great change! Everyone uses it and is learning their letters! Preparing the environment is a good thing!
Here are the girls sketching out their portraits. I gave each girl a mirror so they could look and see what everything looked like. Then I let them help me pick out what color they needed for hair, skin, eyes, and mouth. After that I left them to it!

Arent their portrait great? I love them and I hung them in the kitchen! Today was a bit more laid back but the girls and I were able to do some good work too! Here are the pictures I took!
Here is Pup using our silence tray. She loved it so much. She made everyone else be quite too. She sat there looking at the sand timer and moved the candle around for a LONG time! I think I will have to keep this tray out for a while!
Bunny did combinations of 10 and 8 with the number rods!

ReplyDeleteIt seems like there has been a renewed interest in walking the line! I put one up every now again until I get tired of looking at the tape on the floor, then I pull it up! At least when I put another one down, its like a brand new work!
DeleteIt looks like you had fun. How often do you have tge other two children? If it is only once a week that may explain why it is so much more difficult. When I was working with this age children I always felt there were two groups of children who were at a disinct disadvantage to the others. The first group were those who were dropped off at 8 and picked up at 6. They were tired of being in the same place day after day and wanted their parents. The second group were those children who only did one session a week. They never quite settled or found their groove. The children who were most settled were those who came regularly but had plenty of time with parents just noodling around at home. I wonder if you could get their parents to have some of the same activities available at home so they can feel less inclined to go wild with them when they are with you.

DeleteMaybe the days when you have the little guy could be nature appreciation days, if the weather agrees? I used to watch children while we were homeschooling and we'd pack a picnic, art supplies, camera and changes of clothes all round and head out. As long as we had a wagon or stroller for the small tired people it worked out great.
