It didn't last long, but it was enough to make me want to cry! I mean April is almost over and I am still seeing snowflakes as big as quarters! Oh well....it cant last forever! On a more positive note, we got our new shipment of Montessori Material in the mail on Saturday (it was like Christmas) and today we got to work with some of them!
The first thing that Bunny wanted to pull out was the Trinomial Cube! She has wanted to get it for a while now, ever since she saw the pictures of the boys on What DID We Do All Day doing theirs. She was pretty frustrated at first, but after I presented it again, she got it! :) She was really proud and she loves to have a new work!
All set up.
Working.....
Almost there.....
She did it!!!!!
Bunny was sitting by the beads.

Bunny and Pup worked together.
Bunny is also drawing pictures of some of her work "so I know what it looks like". I think maybe its time to start presenting her with labels for our work!

We still are working on eye spy games alot, but she still doesn't have much interest in reading or writing, so we keep playing! :) I hope it will all click soon!
Tomorrow we should be doing more bird work! I hope to get that posted, and by this weekend we should have chicks!! Happy Learning!
What are you working on in your homeschool?
I love, love the picture she drew of the trinomial cube work! I really enjoy reading about your montessori days. Do you mind sharing what album you are using or other resources you have that help you present your lessons? They always look like so much fun to do. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love her picture too! I'm really glad that you like reading about our days! I really love to see all the wonderful ideas you have as well! Right now I am reading and using Basic Montessori by David Gettman. It really is an amzing book that will really is walking me through different presentations! I also have the New Child Montessori Albums. They are pretty good, and have a lot in them, but I found that follow them too close was overwhelming, so I just pull a few things here and there from them. Other then that I basically make the stuff up! :) Do you use albums? If so which ones? I am trying to find some training that will give me the knowledge that I need. I would like to start a daycare at some point in the future and I want to know how to be a good director of the kids!:) Do you have any thoughts on that? Thanks for your comments! They make my day!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture sequence of your daughter figuring our the trinomial cube work. You can tell how proud she is of herself!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful to see the joy and pride that comes with successfully completing a Montessori material! I featured the photo of your daughter and the trinomial cube at http://livingmontessorinow.com/2011/06/21/help-your-child-develop-persistence-by-using-montessori-principles/
