Chicken Eggs!

Today we were able to get together with our friends. Right now they are studying birds this month as well, and they have some chicken eggs in an incubator that they are observing and learning about! When they asked if we wanted to join in the fun, we said ABSOLUTELY! :) I thought that now would be the perfect time to get the Part of an Egg Cards from Montessori Print Shop. Here are some pictures of what we learned today! It was fun!

Opening the Incubator

First look at the eggs!

They look so pretty. I don't know why I think so, but they are! :)

So silly!

Observing eggs (no chicks in them)

Bunny did not want to touch the egg!

  1. How lucky are you to see chick's growing inside eggs. I'm definitely jealous! You'll have to tell me how difficult and time consuming it is for your friend so I can know if I can handle doing something like this myself. :)

  2. I found this adorable bird matching work and thought of you. I don't know if you can find little bird figures like she did, but isn't it cute?

  3. Lori, I think that they eggs are a little tricky. I know that my friend said they had to turn the eggs a few times a day and keep them at a consisent temp (I dont remember what that was) and you also need to keep the humidity levels the same. Thus an incubator is required. But other then that it is a waiting game! :)
Also, that bird matching is a great idea! Thanks! I think I may use the birds I painted and print off the photos to match to them too! Thanks for the tip!
